One of the Keys to Our Successful Projects:
We do not do estimates, WE PLAN PROJECTS . Throrough planning provides clients with an honest assessment of the actual scope of work for a project. We prefer this proactive approach rather than submitting "estimates"
that do not include provisions for the problems that are likely to be encountered.
For complex projects we dedicate an average of 30-40 hours of planning. We involve our specialty contractors with whom we will be working for the project to evaluate the existing conditions and
develop a plan for th project.
This valueable time spent planning enables us to help clients understand the options they have
for the projects. During this time we also get to know the client and understand their expectations
for the outcome of the project.
Design Professionals:
We work with different design professionals as needed to provide the most efficient planning for your projecct. Whether we need an architect, structural engineer, interior designer or kitchen and bath planner,
we can recommend the right professional for your project.
Since we started our business in 1998, Vintage Renovations Inc. has developed a portfolio that reflects the experience we have gained in the field. We’ve had the privilege to work with many homeowners and design professionals that share our passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Chestnut Hill
This project is a unique one story addition on a corner property in the heart of Chestnut Hill. This addition project provided the home with features many homes in the neighborhood lack such as a mudroom, powder room on the first floor and outdoor equipment storage, all in a manner that flows with the architectural style of the house. Note the panel siding detail that was specified by the homeowner.
This three story addition on a Chestnut Hill twin provided the homeowners with a family room adjacent to the kitchen we completed three years earlier. The project also created a basement level entry that serves as a mudroom with plenty of built in cabinetry for storage, an area for outdoor equipment storage, and a second floor porch off one of the bedrooms.
Ambler
Completed in 2008, the kitchen renovation on this 1800’s home involved a comprehensive new cabinetry plan while sensitively preserving and enhancing the original features of the existing space. This project involved the installation of over 800 square feet of 18” x 18” marble tiles.
This kitchen project involved removing some partition walls and moving the entrance to the basement staircase. The exterior walls were insulated with foam insulation. The original pine floors were refinished. Maple cabinets with white lacquer finish were installed with Corian countertops.
Mt. Airy
Completed in 2006 in conjunction with a small mudroom addition for clients we had worked for at their previous home. This project involved removing a masonry bearing wall and installing structural beams to combine an awkward space that existed in a breakfast room with the kitchen. This project also involved removing the ceiling in the kitchen area and opening up the space to include a cathedral ceiling with rough cut oak collar tie beams and remote controlled skylights.
Completed in 2009, this kitchen remodeling project involved the updating the cabinetry, appliances, lighting and tile floor.
This kitchen was remodeled as part of a comprehensive remodeling project on the first and second floors of this Mt. Airy home. This project involved the removal of many partition walls and two staircases. The exterior walls were insulated with spray foam and radiant heating was installed in the floor. The cabinetry used was a combination of both cherry and painted maple. The countertop was a combination of both granite and Pennsylvania slate. All new millwork was custom made to match the original profiles.
Completed in 2001, this kitchen remodeling project involved a substantial floor plan change to create a more open floor plan and to provide more space for this eat in kitchen.
This project involved turning an existing bedroom into a bathroom/ laundry room.
W. Mt. Airy
This master suite (below) was remodeled as part of a comprehensive remodeling project on the first and second floors of this Mt. Airy home. This project involved the removal of many partition walls and two staircases. The exterior walls were insulated with spray foam and radiant heating was installed in the floor. The bedroom area features a vaulted ceiling and separate walk through closet areas with custom built in cabinetry. The master bathroom is heated with radiant heating and features a walk in shower with a unique tile design.
This project transformed an awkward space near the bathroom of the master suite into an attractive, functional area. The vanity was moved out of the bathroom area to provide more space for the custom shower enclosure. The tile in the bathroom & shower floor is always warm with radiant heat.
This project was part of a renovation of an entire house. The bathroom has a spacious shower enclosure and a vanity we designed and built on site.
The original porch was removed in the 1960s, to make way for an addition. The massive scale of this 1880s Chestnut Hill home needed to be carried over into any porch that was to be built in the location of the original porch. After we considered several options for building a typical roof with some decorative columns, we decided that the reconstruction of the porch using original details was not only a practical option from a carpenter’s standpoint but also economically feasible.
This project involved the reconstruction of the brick foundation piers, the reframing of the porch, installing a new mahogany decking, lattice, columns and railing.
This porch was reconstructed to match the original details. Three different paint colors were used to highlight the architectural features of the porch.
This project’s main focus was to restore the fine craftsmanship with which the porch was originally built in the 1800s. The brick foundation was rebuilt, framing on the porch floor was repaired and a new mahogany tongue and groove porch floor was installed. The roof was removed and the sheathing was replaced with traditional 1”x6” tongue and groove beadboard. A copper built in gutter was installed and a custom copper downspout was fabricated and installed. Spindles matching the original spindles were replicated and railings were fabricated in a pattern to match the original railings. The customer selected multiple colors in the paint schedule to highlight the architectural features of the house.
This project involved restoring the porches on both sides of a Chestnut Hill twin house. The project addressed structural framing issues in the floor and roof. We installed mahogany tongue and groove decking on both porches and one of the customers had us install spindles that matched the original profile. The other customer selected square balusters. The customers specified multiple colors in the paint schedule to highlight the architectural features of the house.
Glenside
This was the renovation of both first and second floor porches. The job required the removal of the existing porch floors, framing repairs, installation of a new flat roof under the second floor porch, installation of new mahogany tongue and groove flooring and new columns and railings.
Glenside, Weldon Fire Company
This project’s purpose was to restore the exterior of the firehouse to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the organization. The project involved repairing some of the millwork trim on the doors, windows and siren tower, installing a new copper roof on top of the siren tower and painting the exterior with a multicolor paint schedule to highlight the architectural features of the building.
